What are the precautions for installation and use of electric winches?

The electric winch is a single-action light and small lifting machine. It is composed of motor, reducer, reel, wire rope, brake, frame and so on. Its motor drives the reel forward and reverse through the reducer, so as to realize the lifting, pulling and dragging of the living things. Electric winches generally use electromagnetic brakes for braking, which are easy to control and have better safety. The electric winch has a large lifting and pulling capacity, and has a simple structure, small size, easy installation, and flexible use, so it is widely used in civil engineering, loading, unloading, hauling, and winching operations. However, just because the winch is easy to install and operate, people are often more casual in installation, use, and maintenance, resulting in some accidents that should not happen. Today, the following precautions are put forward for the installation of the electric winch:

1. The winch should be installed in a place with a wide view and easy observation for operators and commanders. If the mast is used together, the distance between the winch and the mast should not be greater than the height of the mast.

2. In order to avoid the winch being dragged by heavy objects during operation, the fixation of the winch is also very important. Light winches generally adopt the method of adding weight at the rear of the frame and driving piles at the front of the frame. Steel ingots and concrete blocks can be used for the ballast, and it must be calculated to prevent the winch from overturning and slipping due to insufficient ballast.

3. Some construction sites also use vertical and horizontal ground anchors to fix the winch, and the frame is tied tightly with wire ropes. In the fixed factory building, the factory building column or other stable structure can be used as the anchor point, but it can only be used after accounting and taking protective measures. For the fixing of heavy-duty winch, it can generally be used as concrete foundation and fixed with anchor bolts. There are also winches with double vertical or three vertical ground anchors, or large horizontal ground anchors for fixed traction.

4. After the winch is in place, a rainproof shed should be set up on the upper part, and sleepers should be placed on the lower part to prevent moisture damage.

5. Set the operator’s seat next to the electrical handle. Electrical installations should have protective grounding. Both gear transmission and electrical switches need to be equipped with protective covers.

6. The connection between the wire rope and the drum should be fixed at the left and right ends of the drum according to the twist direction of the wire rope. That is: the left twisted steel wire rope is fixed on the right end of the drum, and the steel wire rope is wound from right to left on the drum; the right twisted rope is fixed on the left end of the drum, and the steel wire rope is wound from left to right. The wire rope should be rolled in (out) from the bottom of the drum to facilitate the stability of the winch.

7. The first guide wheel set in front of the winch should make the wire rope wind to the middle of the drum and be perpendicular to the axis of the drum. The distance between the guide wheel and the axis of the reel should be greater than 20 times the diameter of the reel. If there is a grooved reel, the distance should not be less than 15 times the length of the reel to ensure that when the wire rope is wound on both sides of the reel, the wire rope and the reel The deflection angle of the drum axis does not exceed 1.5° (smooth drum) to 2° (grooved drum); in this way, the steel wire ropes can be arranged neatly on the drum, and will not be skewed and overlap each other, squeeze or rub The side plate of the drum is beneficial to the protection of the wire rope.

8. For multi-layer winding reels, the number of layers of steel wire ropes should be in accordance with the provisions of the line capacity. The height of the highest lamination surface lower than the side plate of the drum should be protected by more than 2d (the diameter of the wire rope) to ensure that the wire rope does not slip out without winding.
